Description

Feel the love with bright spring to summer blooms with this beautiful pair of Weigela. These undemanding and bushy little shrubs are ideal for those gardeners with low fuss aspirations.

Both burst to life during that sweet time of the year when spring is concluding and summer days are starting to break out, transitioning the garden from season to season as pale and rich pink blooms erupt across thick plants of dark foliage.

�Vintage Love� flowers are pale pink with bronze-tinged green foliage, while the tubular blooms of �Big Love� are far richer, opening from buds that seem to just keep growing, contrasting against oval-shaped green leaves.

Compact and reliable, Weigela perfectly suit decorative patio pots or mixed border fronts. Once these easy to grow and hardy shrubs settle and establish, they require very little ongoing care.

Plus, the nectar-rich flowers that emerge are irresistible to beneficial insects, particularly when they are grown in the sunniest spots of the garden.

Supplied as a set of two established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant.

Top Tips

When growing in containers, ensure the plants are kept well-watered, even through winter - do not allow the soil to dry out.

Care Information

Before planting, incorporate plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the soil.
Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their provided nursery pots.
Backfill the planting hole and firm the soil well, before giving your newly-planted Weigela a good water.

Pruning:

Regular pruning is not necessary, just cut back once flowering has concluded to encourage future growth.
Cut back flowering branches by at least two thirds to encourage new shoots to grow, which will flower in the following season.
On older plants, remove one or two of the older stems to the base and cut back the flowered stems to strong shoots below the spent flowers.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
